Instead of a Journal, which I have consistently failed to
keep up, I have decided to include some of the poetry
I have been writing, or my translations/interpretations
of favourate Spanish or Italian poems, as these
can represent the underlying themes of much of my art.
The first, Soliloquoi en las olas, see the next page,
is the last part of a poem by the
Chilean poet, Pablo Neruda, which I first encountered
about 11 years ago, and which for me
expresses much better than I will ever be able to,
what it has felt like to stand alone
and watch the waves on Poldhu Cove beach
these last 10 years.
